Payment failure là nguyên nhân phổ biến nhất gây delivery interruption — và đây là vấn đề hoàn toàn có thể prevent với setup đúng cách.
Phần 1: Hiểu Cách Facebook Billing Hoạt Động
1.1. Automatic Billing (Default)
Với automatic billing, Meta charge thẻ của bạn:
- Khi spending đạt billing threshold (threshold tăng dần khi có payment history tốt)
- Vào cuối billing period (thường monthly) nếu chưa đạt threshold
Nếu charge fail → account paused → bạn cần fix payment và manually unpause ads (hoặc wait until Meta auto-retry và success).
1.2. Manual Payment (Prepaid)
Một số countries có option manual payment — nạp tiền trước vào ad account balance, Meta deduct từ balance. Không bị phụ thuộc vào thẻ charge success. Nhưng cần remember nạp tiền khi balance thấp.
1.3. Billing Threshold
Với accounts mới, threshold thường thấp ($25-50). Account có payment history tốt → threshold raise lên ($500, $750, $1000...). Threshold cao hơn = ít interruption hơn (vì ít charge attempts hơn).
Phần 2: Payment Method Best Practices
2.1. Chọn Loại Thẻ Nào
Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard):
- Best choice — higher limits, better fraud protection
- Ensure billing address matches registered address
- Check if your bank auto-flags international charges — call them and whitelist Facebook charges
Debit Card:
- Works nhưng riskier — direct tie to bank account
- Some banks block international online transactions by default

Prepaid Cards:
- Không recommended — nhiều prepaid cards không accepted
- Risk: không reloadable → delivery pauses khi balance out
2.2. Always Have Backup Payment — Non-Negotiable
Đây là rule số 1: luôn có ít nhất 2 payment methods trong ad account. Khi primary fail, Meta auto-charges backup. Zero downtime.
Add backup trong Ad Account → Settings → Payment Methods → Add payment method.
2.3. Không Share Thẻ Giữa Multiple Ad Accounts
Nếu cùng thẻ được dùng trên 10 accounts và thẻ bị issue → 10 accounts pause cùng lúc. Diversify payment: mỗi account (hoặc mỗi BM) nên có thẻ dedicated riêng nếu có thể.
Phần 3: Xử Lý Khi Thẻ Bị Decline
3.1. Immediate Actions (Trong 1 Giờ)
- Check bank account: sufficient balance? Card expired? Any freezes?
- Call bank: autorize international online transaction
- If card issue can't be resolved quickly: add backup card to Meta account ngay
- In Meta: Billing → Update payment → Add new method → Make primary
- Manually unpause ads nếu Meta đã pause
3.2. Common Decline Reasons
- Insufficient funds / credit limit reached
- Bank blocks international/online transactions
- Card expired
- Billing address mismatch
- Bank fraud detection (large sudden charge)
- Card type not accepted (certain prepaid cards)
3.3. Prevention — Setup Alerts
- Set bank SMS alerts for any Meta charge — know immediately if it fails
- Set threshold alert trong Meta billing để biết khi nào sắp bị charge
- Calendar reminder monthly để check card expiry dates
- Keep minimum balance buffer trên debit cards (không spend xuống sát zero)
Phần 4: Spending Limits Và Account Credit
4.1. Account Spending Limit vs Monthly Spending Limit
- Account Spending Limit: Hard cap — khi đạt limit, delivery stops hoàn toàn cho đến khi bạn raise hoặc reset. Useful để test với controlled budget.
- Monthly Spending Limit: Soft cap per calendar month. Useful để control monthly budget không overspend.
Nếu đang scale và không muốn bị interrupt, remove account spending limit hoặc set nó cao hơn max budget bạn plan. Don't set it equal to your planned budget — leave buffer.
